Course Syllabus & Curriculum

This is the initial introduction to hypnosis as a therapeutic tool. It explains hypnosis, gives you various tests used for determining suggestibility to the trance state, talks about history of hypnosis and then proceeds to show you how to induce hypnosis. You learn about how to make to most effective suggestions in hypnosis, the distinction between conscious and unconscious mind and more on inductions. Useful mechanical aids used during a hypnosis session are dealt with.

This sets out scripts for the ‘progressive relaxation induction’ and the ‘blackboard induction.’ Then you learn how to deepen the hypnotic trance, followed by scripts and advice on dealing with weight loss, smoking cessation and stress management, the three most popular presenting problems to a hypnotist.. Ethics are an important part of a hypnotists practice. This is followed by how a session is structured, and concludes with the assessment of behaviors and the techniques on how to change them.

This starts with the important section on goal setting, followed by desensitization techniques and ego strengthening scripts. A very useful discourse on how to run a six hour self hypnosis course, age regression and the affect bridge technique, one of the cornerstones of analytical hypnosis. This concludes the NGH course and you will take exams to certify you as an “NGH Certified Member’. They are not difficult – this is a promise!

The Advanced course is designed to give you those extra skills so that you can immediately start up a practice with confidence on graduation.

You will be leaning and practicing over sixteen additional inductions, so that you will never get stuck with how to induce the hypnotic state with a resistant client. The area of how to give powerful therapeutic suggestion is supplemented with that which you learned earlier on the NGH course.

You will also have a much deeper insight how to test the depth of you client in the trance state, and how to change effectively the five senses and have in your toolbox processes such as Past Life Regression, amnesia, analgesia, revivication etc.

This is an essential course learning how to ‘heal’ using the hypnotic state. This is such an important modality now, as the public cannot either afford the ridiculous high cost of allopathic medicine, or simply do not wish to have to take another pill to treat the symptom each time they see a medical doctor. By addressing the cause of your client’s dis-ease through hypnosis often brings about a swift and effective ’healing’. We cover pain, digestion, dermatological, urinary, and cardio-vascular problems and more.

There is set out clearly below nineteen special processes that you will be taught and you will encounter in your practice. These are not adequately covered by the basis NGH course. Every one of these processes are powerful and effective and will put you shoulders above the averagely educated hypnotist.

And finally, you will be taught marketing skills and sound business practice, which is essential for you to make a success of your practice. We have a tax expert to lecture on the choice of tax and corporate entity, and a successful graduate will teach you about marketing skills, especially making a web site, which is essential in our world of the Internet and getting your skills to the public at large.

We also cover professional indemnity insurance, the office and bookkeeping and CEU's for keeping up your membership of the various bodies you will be a member of.

NLP Foundation Skills Certification, included in the Knightsbridge hypnotherapy course, is conducted by Beverly Martin, a Certified NLP Master and Instructor. She will be teaching a comprehensive introduction to NLP, meeting International Standards, and comprising:

• Principles and history of NLP
• Sensory acuity and calibration-how to 'read' people better
• Rapport skills-how to create appositive connection with anyone
• Regresentational systems - understanding different thinking styles
• Precision questions-knowing how to ask exactly the right questions at the right time
• Submodalities - how to 'run your own brain'
• Anchoring - how to evoke and use resourceful states in yourself and others

You can become an NLP Certified Practitioner by going on to take Beverly Martin's NLP Practitioner Certification Training in April 2011, following completion of the Knightsbridge Hypnotherapy Course.
